Last month we jointly held the National Institutes of Health’s Launching Biomedical Innovators conference! The event was a two-day mini-conference spearheaded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Life Science Tennessee, LaunchTN, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Meharry Medical College, and University of Tennessee Health Science Center, focused on educating stakeholders about the benefits and processes of federal SBIR and STTR funding.

Attendees had the opportunity to hear about small business funding opportunities through the NIH and entrepreneurial resources offered through partner institutions, and learn successful habits from past and present small business grantees. We goal is for attendees to have gained critical information that will help them prepare competitive SBIR/ STTR grant applications.

Please contact [email protected] if you have any further questions or concerns.

National Institute of Health

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the primary federal biomedical research agency in the United States; its goals are to improve national health through discovery and innovation, foster resources that prevent disease, expand the biomedical knowledge base, and to promote high-level scientific conduct. These goals support NIH’s mission to “enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce the burdens of illness and disability” through supporting and conducting scientific research.
