History
Founded in 1999 as the Tennessee Biotechnology Association, Life Science Tennessee is a statewide organization of leading scientists, researchers, academicians, clinicians, legislators and business professionals working to foster, develop and support the life sciences in Tennessee. We were the nation’s 25th state trade association to be formed and continue to work closely with the national Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) and the Council of State Bio Associations (CSBA) to promote and share industry best practices.
Life Science Tennessee serves as the voice of the industry in Tennessee, promoting life science education, research, health care and technology transfer programs. We also work to enhance access to capital for life science companies and entrepreneurs as well as recruit new business and outside investment in Tennessee companies, research and technologies.
